Our Hallmarks

Guaranteed Authenticity – Hallmarked in the UK

Every Silverage London piece of fine jewellery is independently hallmarked in the United Kingdom by the London Assay Office, ensuring that the metal purity and origin of your jewellery are fully certified.

A hallmark is an official stamp that confirms your jewellery has been tested and meets the legal British standards for gold, silver, platinum or palladium. It is your assurance of quality, authenticity and trust.

What You’ll See on Your Piece

Each hallmark contains a series of small symbols, usually placed discreetly on the inside band or clasp:

  • Metal Fineness Mark – the standard of precious metal, such as 375 for 9 carat gold or 925 for sterling silver.
  • Assay Office Mark – the official stamp of the London Assay Office (the leopard’s head).

Together, these marks guarantee that your jewellery is authentic and complies with UK Hallmarking Regulations 1973.

Why Hallmarking Matters

Hallmarking protects you, the customer. It confirms that the metal content you are buying is exactly as described and has been verified by a trusted independent authority.
All jewellery described as gold, silver, platinum or palladium above the legal weight threshold must be hallmarked in the UK – a centuries-old practice that remains the gold standard of assurance today.

When you choose Silverage London, you are purchasing a piece that has been crafted in Britain and certified for purity and integrity. Our hallmarks are your promise of lasting quality.

Authentic. Certified. Made in Britain.

We are proud to continue the tradition of British hallmarking – a symbol of honesty, craftsmanship and excellence recognised around the world.
